This is Harriet Beecher Stowe, the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin. Uncle Tom's Cabin is a book about a slave who is mistreated. It informed a lot of people in the north and in Europe about how slave owners mistreated their slaves. It was a major event in the beggining of the civil war.
