Roles of Women in the Civil war, Julia Canfield and October Durkee Miller Karens Office

This is a picture of Clara Barton, who was an important person in the civil war. She traveled with the ambulances  to heal and comfort wounded soldiers. At first, she just tended to soldiers in Massachusetts, but as the war went on, she got permission to travel the front lines, and eventually became in charge of all the hospitals at the Army of the James. She went on to do even more good beyond the civil war, and went down in history for her love of nursing and helping people.
