Abraham Lincoln's Election

Abraham Lincoln's election is known as one of the key elements that led to the 4 year civil war. Abraham Lincoln signed what is called the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1st, 1863. The Emancipation Proclamation was a bill that proclaimed the freedom of 3.1 million of the total 4 million slaves, which freed 50,000 right away. After the bill was signed, Italy, France, and Great Britain decided to support The Union in order to preserve the United States Of America. Abraham Lincoln also did many great deeds to support and make the U.S a better county such as end slavery, get his face on the $5 dollar bill, make his quotes very famous, signed the bill that chartered the first transcontinental railroad.
