Isabel, Sophia, "three fifths of a man" Karen's office

This picture represents the Three-fifths Compromise, a law that made it so each slave counted as only three-fifths of a man. After the law was passed, the southern states were not as powerful in the House of Representatives as they would have been, if each slave was counted as a whole man.

B                this picture represents the conflict between the north and the south
over the issue of slavery. northern farmers felt that the southern
plantation owners were forcing slavery down their throats.
