Robert E. Lee was a general for the confederates. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy. His nicknames were Light-Horse Harry and Marble Man. He was born in Virginia and died in Virginia. He was promoted commander of the confederate army in 1861. He was married to Ann Rudolph Custis and had 7 kids. He died on October 12, 1870 and he rests at Lee Chapel.
