For Rowen and I's quilt square we did the Emancipation Proclamaton. On the square we have Aberham Lincoln saying that "5,000 slaves are going to be freed." We also have a slave saying "YAY!" because he is happy that he is going to be free. : ) Our quilt square is important to the Quilting The Nation project because it represents a big change in our nations history and a big change in the war itself.
