Our quilt piece is about the 14th amendment. it shows how it made black people and white people equal. it was only political though. black people were still being treated badly and they weren't allowed to do things that white people were able to do. the equal sign in the middle of our quilt piece shows how it made the african americans equal to whites. the people on both side represent the two racial groups.
