My idea for a story based off of the picture above, is that of a young boy who ran off to the army when he was just 12 years old. He signed up to fight, but because he was short for his age (or so they thought) he was put on one of the hospital wagons. The first call into the battlefield came a couple days later. After a bumpy ride he arrived there. He was horrified. Then he realizes that the 18-year-old boy they were cutting arms off was his favorite cousin (who was a confederate soldier). When the sergeant tells him that this is big chance, because you are going into battle tomorrow, he is initially happy, but then he thinks- for what?? So I can kill my cousins, by friends, other people’s, children and fathers. So he runs away. So he runs away.
