This is an edition of Uncle Tom's Cabin. This novel was supposedly a vision that the author, Harriet Beecher Stowe had during a church service. This book tore the nation apart, because it made the South very defensive, and the North even more angry. It's use of gory, realistically horrific details shocked the nation as a whole, and pushed them to fight for what they felt was right.
